About Djibouti
As a first experience in Africa, my opinion will be like a fresh eye which has never seen others countries in Africa. My first feeling is positive.
The capital Djibouti has the same name that of the country. Although the harbour is one main part of the capital, the city does not possess any strong landmarks unfortunately. However, the downtown is interesting by its architecture. Many buildings kept a history. Otherwise, the people are very friendly. It is easy to go around the city by taxi or even by walk.
The other part of Djibouti is also the west side with some amazing places. Assal lake is one of the scenic places to go. On the way between the capital to the lake, you will admire many curiosities: traditional villages, monkeys beside the road, camels, local people selling food and souvenirs, children selling peanuts. I advise you to visit this place as asking services to Ali from his agency “La Maison des Randonneurs“.
