United Arab Emirates – Dubai

About Dubai (South)

The south of Dubai is one of the new district built fifteen years ago while before it was only sand and few ghaf tree. There are mainly the Palm Jumeirah and the Marina even if now the South tends to go to the new airport. On the Palm, you will find a multitude of luxury hotels and the famous Atlantis, The Palm. The new Royal Atlantis is still under construction in 2019. The aquarium of the hotel and the Water Park are amazing. Lately, a new place has opened, named The Pointe. This place has a great display on the Atlantis hotel. This is perfect at the sunset time.

In the Marina, you can walk around and discover many restaurants and shops on The Walk. If you wish to reach the beach, you will cross Jumeirah Beach Road (JBR), one long avenue with bars and coffee shops. It is also a perfect spot at night to have dinner with friends or family.

Jumeirah Lakes Towers is a residential district opposite to the Marina, more quiet than the Marina but it tends to be the place with a multitude of cuisines. There are different Mall around these districts : Mall of Emirates and Ibn Battuta Mall. Dubai Miracle Garden is also a nice place, a huge garden of flowers : totally colorful ! Another place to have a drink or a coffee is the Souk Madinat near Burj Al Arab. Plan to do that during the sunset, the colors are amazing.

There are a multitude of Souk : Gold, Spice and Textile. You can cross the Dubai Creek by dhow (small boat). It’s very cheap. It’s easy to walk around you in this district, by walk, metro or taxi. The taxi is cheap as well. There are always curiosities to discover in each corner of streets : old buildings, luxury hotels, souq, mosque … Near Bur Dubai, another area where you have the beginning of the new district which has built for the business : DIFC. The first tower built for the symbol of the city, a long time ago, is the World Trade Center. After that, the skyscrapers were built more and more around the Sheik Zayed Road. Now, there is a huge downtown with the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall.
