Macedonia – Skopje

About Skopje

Skopje is an amazing and pretty city, under construction when I was here. If you come from Kosovo’s road, you will be surprise by the contrast. Only few kilometers separate the two main cities : Pristina and Skopje. It’s easy to cross the city by walk : it’s not really huge. The downtown is symbolized by the old bazaar. You will find good deals. Many restaurants and coffee shops surround the place. The Millennium Cross is the landmark of the city. At the top of the mountain, you will have a great view of the city and the backside of the green valley. You will reach the top by cable car. Others place to visit are the Skopje Fortress and all the district around Macedonia Square. You will cross the Stone Bridge to reach this last one. The night, you can admire the fountains in Vardar River : a show of lights, colorful and spectacular in this city which develops very fast in the tourism.
